We handle your personal data with the same technical rigour we apply to the projects we build. This policy explains, plainly, what data we collect through this site, for what purposes, and what rights you have over it.
Who is the data controller
Zinel Engenharia, Lda, a Mozambican limited liability company (sociedade comercial por quotas), with its registered office at Av. de Angola, n.º 133, R/C, Porta n.º 01, Maputo City, Mozambique, tax number (NUIT) 402255412.
For any matter related to personal data protection, contact Zinel’s data protection contact at zinel@zinel.co.mz or +258 84 620 3387 (WhatsApp). The person responsible for this function is designated internally, in writing, on a document signed by management.
Data we collect
“Request a Proposal” form
When you fill in the proposal request form on our site, we collect: project type, service type requested, client type, location, project description, estimated budget, desired timeline, your name, phone number, WhatsApp number (and whether it’s the same number), email, your preferred contact method, and how you heard about Zinel Engenharia.
We use this data solely to respond to your request, prepare a proposal, and contact you.
Data collected automatically
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used — pages visited, time spent, device type and approximate location, on an aggregated basis. These analytics cookies are only activated with your consent, given through the notice shown on your first visit; you can change your choice at any time. We do not use advertising or social media pixels, or embedded third-party maps.
Data we do not collect
We do not accept unsolicited job applications or CVs through this site. If you send us a CV through another channel without us having requested it, we delete it and let you know.
Photographs of projects and of people
Our site may publish photographs of projects and works completed by Zinel. Whenever these photographs include identifiable people — staff, clients, or site visitors — we only publish them with the express authorisation of those people, obtained before publication. If you recognise yourself in a photograph and would like it removed, contact us at zinel@zinel.co.mz; we respond and resolve the request within 15 business days.
Project and client confidentiality
Zinel frequently works under construction and service contracts that include confidentiality obligations. Information about specific projects or clients is only published — including on this site and on our social media — with the authorisation of the relevant project owner or client.
Purposes and legal basis for processing your data
We process your data to: respond to your requests and prepare commercial proposals; maintain a record of our business relationship; comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations we are subject to; and understand and improve how this site works.
The legal basis for this processing rests on Article 71 of the Constitution of the Republic of Mozambique and Articles 63 to 65 of Law No. 3/2017, the Electronic Transactions Law.
Note on upcoming legislation. A new Personal Data Protection Law was approved by the Council of Ministers in March 2026 and is now before the Assembly of the Republic — it is not yet in force. When it takes effect, this policy will be revised to reflect its requirements.
How long we keep your data
Proposal requests that do not result in a contract are kept for up to 2 years after the last contact, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Data relating to clients we have contracted with is kept for the duration of the contractual relationship and, afterwards, for the period required by applicable commercial and tax legislation. Traffic analytics data follows Google Analytics 4’s standard retention period.
Your rights
Regarding your personal data, you have the right to request access, rectification, erasure, objection to processing, restriction of processing, and portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at zinel@zinel.co.mz. We respond within 15 business days, at no cost.
Note. Current Mozambican law does not yet expressly require all of these rights in the form described here. We grant them regardless, because we consider it the right practice and because it aligns with the direction Mozambican legislation is taking.
Security
We apply technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the site, HTTP security headers, hosting managed by a specialised provider, and restricted access to the internal systems where your data is processed.
International transfers
Some of the providers we use to operate this site and its associated services process data outside Mozambique — namely in the United States and the European Union. In these cases, we require those providers to apply contractual safeguards adequate to protect your data.
Minors
This site is not directed at minors, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. Material changes will be flagged visibly on the site.
What this policy does not cover
This policy only covers personal data collected through this site. It does not cover information about specific projects or clients published with authorisation — that is governed by the applicable contracts and authorisations, not by this policy. It also does not cover external sites linked from this site.
Contact and complaints
For any question about this policy or about your personal data, contact us at zinel@zinel.co.mz or +258 84 620 3387. You may also file a complaint with the Instituto Nacional de Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação (INTIC), Mozambique’s national ICT institute.
Notice: this text does not constitute legal advice. It rests on the Constitution of the Republic (Article 71) and Law No. 3/2017 (Articles 63 to 65), and on GDPR practice. We recommend that a Mozambican lawyer review this text before it becomes the document Zinel relies on with an institutional client.

Social media and platform connections
Zinel maintains a presence on LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. Content is published to these accounts through the Pragma Consulting — Social Publisher application, registered with LinkedIn by Pragma Consulting, Lda, which we have expressly authorised to publish on our behalf.
This application only accesses the identifier and name of the profile we authorised, and the publishing permission we granted. It does not read contacts, private messages, or third-party content, and does not collect data from other platform members. Only the access credential, encrypted, and a log of the posts made are stored. None of this is sold, disclosed, or transferred to third parties. We may revoke this access at any time, in the platform’s own settings, with immediate effect.
The same rules apply to our Instagram and Facebook accounts.
Buttons and links. The site links to our social media profiles, but does not embed share buttons or tracking pixels — your visit to this site is not reported to any platform. Following a link to an external site makes you subject to that site’s own privacy policy.
